The Western Reserve Suzuki School (WRSS) welcomes you to its online home. WRSS is a not-for-profit music school drawing students from all over northeast Ohio. WRSS faculty members have received extensive SAA-approved Suzuki training. All are active teachers and performers in the local performing arts community and at summer Suzuki Institutes nationwide.
WRSS offers instruction in violin, viola, cello, and piano. Along with weekly private lessons, students participate in bi-monthly Saturday morning classes which include group session, play-ins, theory classes, movement classes, and informal and formal recital opportunities.

Western Reserve Suzuki School History
Margaret Wutz and Marlene Moses founded The Western Reserve Suzuki School in 1995 with only a handful of students and a shared vision of providing Suzuki education to Akron-area families. Today, the school’s enrollment is nearly 100 students, with the faculty consisting of three violin teachers, two piano teachers, one cello teacher, three theory teachers, one movement teacher, and support staff.
WRSS students perform in many school and community orchestras across the area. They also perform at area churches and for community events. WRSS students have also performed for organizations such as the Akron Women’s City Club, Kiwanis, Children’s Hospital, Goodwill Industries and the American Red Cross. WRSS has performed at E.J. Thomas Hall in Akron, Ohio and performs the National Anthem annually at Progressive Field for the Cleveland Indians.
